Introduction

Crewd (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is operated by Daermei LLC. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the Crewd website, web application, and native mobile apps (together, the “Service”).

By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Information We Collect

Account and profile

• Email address — when you sign up or sign in with email, Google, or Apple (processed by our authentication provider)
• Display name — shown to other users
• Profile photo — optional; stored if you upload one
• Phone number — if you provide it on your profile; required (with the items below) before you can create or join activities
• Date of birth — if you provide it on your profile; used to confirm you meet the minimum age (13+) before hosting or joining activities
• Gender — if you select an option on your profile; required (with phone and date of birth) before you can create or join activities

Location

If you allow it, your device or browser may share approximate location (e.g., coordinates) so we can show activities near you and sort by distance. You can revoke location permission in your device or browser settings; some features will be limited without it.

Activity and community data

• Activities you create, edit, or join; waitlists; comments; shared-cost settings you enter
• Host and participant feedback, ratings, disputes, and blocks you use
• In-app notifications and your notification preferences

Device, push, and technical data

• Push tokens — if you enable push notifications, we store device or browser identifiers needed to deliver alerts (e.g., Apple Push Notification service, Firebase Cloud Messaging, or web push)
• Log and security data — such as IP address, approximate region, browser or app version, and timestamps, used to operate, secure, and debug the Service
• Product usage — we may log events (e.g., feature usage) to improve reliability and the user experience

How We Use Information

• Provide core features: accounts, activities, maps/list views, messaging-style updates, and trust features
• Send notifications you opt into (in-app, email, or push)
• Maintain safety and integrity (e.g., disputes, blocks, abuse prevention)
• Operate, secure, and improve the Service; comply with law; enforce our Terms of Service

How We Store and Process Data (Subprocessors)

We use reputable infrastructure providers. Personal data is processed on their systems under our instructions and appropriate agreements.

Supabase

We use Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage (e.g., profile images). Supabase processes account data and application data you generate. See Supabase’s Privacy Policy.

Vercel

We host our web application and API on Vercel. Requests you make may pass through Vercel’s network. See Vercel’s Privacy Policy.

Email (Resend)

If you enable email notifications, we may send transactional messages (e.g., alerts about activities) through Resend. See Resend’s Privacy Policy.

Sign-in providers

• Google — Google Privacy Policy
• Apple — Apple Privacy Policy

Maps

Map views may use third-party map data or libraries; those providers have their own terms and privacy notices.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information:

• With other users — as needed for the Service (e.g., activity details, host/participant profiles, comments)
• With service providers — listed above, to operate the Service
• For legal reasons — if required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to applicable law

Retention

We keep information as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize personal data as described below, unless we must retain certain data by law.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:

• Access or receive a copy of your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data (much of this you can edit in the app)
• Delete your account and associated data
• Opt out of certain processing (e.g., turn off location, email, or push in settings)
• Object or restrict processing, or request portability, where applicable

To exercise these rights or request account and data deletion, email support@daermei.net from the email address associated with your account. We will respond within a reasonable time as required by law.

Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact support@daermei.net.

Security

We use industry-standard measures (such as encryption in transit via HTTPS, access controls, and secure hosting). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Transfers

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Those countries may have different data protection laws. By using the Service, you understand your information may be transferred and processed as described here.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will update the “Last Updated” date and, when appropriate, provide additional notice (e.g., in-app or by email). Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy, where permitted by law.

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents may have rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” as defined under California law. We do not sell personal information for money. To submit a request, contact support@daermei.net.

European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you may have rights under GDPR (or local equivalents), including:

• Access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection
• The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
